Construction and Quality

Our craftsmen combine traditional furniture making skills and modern technology to produce fine furniture.

We can construct furniture from almost any natural timber. Oak, ash and maple being the most popular and hard wearing materials. Although, other timbers are available on request.

Thought and detail goes into every component and assembled by hand using traditional methods. All furniture and doors/frames are of mortice and tenon construction. Drawers are made from dovetailed solid timber.

Modern Technology
Although we are traditional furniture makers, we realise the need for incorporating the latest trends in furniture technology. Soft close drawer runners, pullout storage, and modern concealed hinge systems all have a place along side traditional methods.

Finishes

  • Staining. Our oil based stains are hand wiped for deep penetration of the wood and uniform tone.
  • Paint. Painted units are made from top quality materials and hand painted to high standard. Our furniture can be painted any colour of your choice.
  • Polishing. All polished units are hand finished.

Environment
The Church Furniture Company has a responsible environmental policy. Ever aware of the pollution industry creates, we are mindful that our manufacturing processes and methods are in accordance with our duty to the future of the environment.

Timber
Where ever possible we will source our timber from timber merchants who subscribe to the environmental sustainable forest initiatives.

All material off-cuts are recycled. Although most waste is recycled or reused, some waste material has to be disposed of through relevant waste contract companies.

General
Outside of the workshop we look to recycle all materials possible. This includes 100% paper, cardboard, plastics and packaging. The Church Furniture Company also do not produce any paper brochures.
